GRI Engineering Announces Building of New Foundry in India

December 15, 2020 – West Bengal, India: GRIE has announced the building of a new MAT India foundry in West Bengal for expanding brake pad and rotor development. Construction of the 35-acre facility is planned to begin in early September and be completed in February 2021.

In the first phase, this facility will have an annual capacity of five million pieces incorporating both foundry and machining operations and will employ approximately 900 employees. This operation is a proactive response to the supply chain risks posed by the Section 301 steel tariffs and will provide a long term solution to future potential supply chain interruptions as well as an immediate competitive edge to our customers.
